Challenge

With the inter-Korean summit imminent, what readers needed wasn't breaking news but context: "how different have we become in 70 years?" The challenge was to bring scattered statistics together into a single interactive piece.

Approach

1
Collected major North-South indicators over 70 years of division — language, economy, population, daily life, military
2
Structured as interactive comparison graphics with a scroll narrative format
3
Published 3 days before the summit (4/27) — positioned as a context piece in the news cycle

Outcome

Reader traffic concentrated as a context piece ahead of the summit
Completed the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit digital package alongside the Panmunjom 3D series
Panmunjom & Two Koreas series: 1.1M+ cumulative PV
